Bio
As
a Third Grade teacher, I am passionate about improving your child's
reading abilities by broadening their reading horizons as we share a
variety of genres. I
have been teaching for 27 years (2 years in Georgia and 25 years in
Alabama). As a professional, I am constantly learning better methods
for reaching even the most difficult reader.
As
a child growing up on a farm in Hanceville, Alabama, my parents
instilled in me a love of reading, travel, and adventure. My father
believed that the world is a big place that needs to be explored.
Because of this belief, we traveled the country in a camper. Each
summer we spent a few weeks going to wonderful sights in the United
States such as the Grand Canyon, St. Louis and the Gateway Arch, and
Niagra Falls. I learned that we live in a beautiful and diverse
country.
My
husband, Mark, and our daughter, Lauren, enjoy traveling, too. We like
riding bikes, hiking on the Appalachian Trail, and camping. Mark and I
have been married for 27 years.
In
my "free" time, I enjoy gardening, playing the piano, singing in the
Scottsboro Cumberland Presbyterian Church Choir, and playing clarinet in
the Scottsboro Community Band.
